Project Description

My project will revolved around the RA position that I was chosen to hold throughout the duration of fall semester 2016. This position will gave me the chance to organize many separate projects and activities. This position gave me the opportunity to learn leadership skills and set an example for many other students. This project aspires to create a positive atmosphere for Southern Utah University students that assists them in social and academic situations and presents them with the resources necessary to be successful.  

This project required attendance to weekly meetings, to report on the success and shortcomings of projects and programs, and group planning of larger ones. Also included in this position is being on call for residents when the housing office isn’t open for them. The amount of time spent actively working in this position will vary greatly from week to week. It may be anywhere from as little as 10 hours to as many as 30 hours depending on the activities scheduled and the needs of the students.  

One thing that I took away from this project is a strengthened set of leadership and organizational skills that will assist me in my future career. As I hope to eventually be in a leadership position, these skills will assist me in directing those that I am responsible for and ensuring that projects are done efficiently.
